Terms and Conditions
Last updated:
These terms govern the use of the Naipa app and of the naipa.co website. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them. If you do not agree with them, please do not use Naipa.
1. What Naipa is
Naipa is a game of assisted journaling. It shows you three cards a day with ambiguous words or drawings, gives you sixty seconds for each one, and asks for the first thing that comes to mind. Once a week it groups what you wrote into recurring themes and writes a short, exploratory note about them.
2. What Naipa is not
Naipa is not a psychological test, a diagnosis, a clinical assessment or a therapy, and it is not a substitute for any medical, psychiatric or psychological treatment you may need. It measures nothing about you, and there are no right or wrong answers: all it does is count how often certain themes appear in what you write.
If you are going through a hard time, talk to a mental health professional. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services. Naipa is not a crisis service and nobody is reading your entries on the other side.
3. Who can use it
You must be 18 or older to have an account, and the information you give when you register must be true. One account per person.
You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for whatever happens under your account. If you think someone else has got in, write to us and change your password.
4. What you write is yours
The text you write stays yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store it, sync it across your devices, and process it as described in the Privacy Policy so that the weekly summary can exist. That permission ends when you delete your account.
We do not publish your entries, we do not show them to other people — Naipa has no social features of any kind — we do not sell them, and we do not use them to train AI models.
5. Price
The daily turn is free and stays free: the three cards, the minute to write them, your streak and each week's day counts. That is the practice, and the practice is not for sale.
What you pay for is the weekly reading — the text the AI writes about your week, the themes it groups and the line it picks out —, what you wrote before your last two weeks, and what you wrote the last time each card came up. Your first two readings are free, and free for good: once a week falls inside that allowance it never locks again, however long you leave it, quote included. While those free readings last, everything you wrote can be read; once you reach the first one that is paid, without a subscription your current week and the one before stay open, and older days show their date and card but not the text.
The subscription is bought and billed through the store you installed Naipa from — Google Play on Android, the App Store on iPhone — at the price it shows. It renews on its own until you cancel, and you cancel it from your account with that store, not from the app. Refunds are governed by that store's terms.
If you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. After that your entries are still yours and are not deleted: they stay stored and can be read in full again as soon as you subscribe again. What stops being available is the weekly reading and the text of anything before your last two weeks.
6. Availability
Naipa is a small project. We do our best to keep it up, but we do not guarantee that it will be available without interruption or free of errors, and we may change, suspend or retire features.
The daily turn works offline on your device, and your entries sync when there is a connection. An outage on our side does not stop you from playing.
7. Acceptable use
When using Naipa, you agree not to:
- Try to break into, overload, or interfere with the service or its infrastructure.
- Access accounts, data or areas of the service that are not yours.
- Automate use of the app or extract its content en masse.
- Decompile or reverse engineer the app beyond what the law expressly allows.
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these terms.
8. Intellectual property
The Naipa name, the deck illustrations, the design of the app and the website, and their code belong to us and are protected by copyright. Reproducing, distributing, transforming or commercially exploiting them without prior written permission is not allowed — the card art in particular is not free for reuse.
None of this restricts what you write, which is and remains yours.
9. Third-party services
The app is distributed through Google Play and the App Store, sign-in may go through Google, and the weekly summary relies on third-party AI providers. Their own terms govern their part of it, and we are not responsible for their content or their practices. The same applies to any external link on the website or the blog.
Subscription payments are processed entirely by the store you bought from, Google or Apple: we never see or store your payment details. Buying, renewing, cancelling and refunding are governed by that store's terms, and any complaint about a charge is handled by it.
10. Your data
How we treat your information is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms and should be read together with them.
11. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Naipa is provided as is. We are not liable for indirect damages, loss of data, or decisions you make based on what the app shows you.
The weekly note is an exploratory text written by a language model. It can be wrong, banal or wide of the mark, and it is not advice of any kind — least of all clinical advice.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including the rights you hold as a consumer.
12. Ending it
You can stop using Naipa whenever you want and delete your account, and everything in it, from the app's settings; the deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. If you would rather ask us by email, we complete it within 30 days.
If you have an active subscription, cancel it from the store you bought it from first — Google Play or the App Store: deleting your Naipa account does not stop the billing, because the store is what handles it. A cancelled subscription stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we may retire the service entirely — in which case we will give reasonable notice and a way for you to take your entries with you.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the date at the top says when we last did. Continuing to use Naipa after a change means you accept the new version. If you do not accept it, you can delete your account.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Colombia, and any dispute arising from them goes to the competent courts of that country.
If you use Naipa as a consumer from the European Union or the United Kingdom, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live.
